Not exactly what we were hoping for in the way of weather, but despite the fog, a few members decided to come down to Chouet and enjoy a bit of a social gathering. There were a few flights, but pilots had to keep models very close in, which presented some ‘challenges’ to flying skills 🙂
Thanks for Chris Wilkinson for these photos, plus I’ve added a few of my own to give an idea of just how challenging the conditions were.
- Early in the day, only a few models have arrived
- Andy Best’s diminutive Habu certainly tested his skills as a pilot to make sure the fog didn’t swallow the model up.
- Not the best colour scheme for these flying conditions 🙂
- Alan Howell’s ‘Stik’ taking to the air, fog had rolled back slightly at this stage
- ….then the fog rolled back in !!!
- Andy and Stefan discussing take off tactics prior to the flight.
- And away goes this lovely little model of a ‘Trojan’, great colour scheme for the conditions too !
- OK…. I can hear it, but where is it !
Not ideal conditions, but it turned out to be a fun day nonetheless. Thanks to those who made the effort to turn out, let’s hope we can finally bring this event to complete fruition in the not too distant future.
