Despite a ‘slight’ chill in the air, quite a few members made it to the Chouet flying site to toast the New Year and wish for favourable winds and warm conditions for 2024. There was a surprising number of models brought along and although the wind had picked up a little overnight, no ‘mishaps’ were evident and the pilots all agreed that although it was a little challenging to feel one’s fingers at times, the flying conditions were OK.
Below are some shots of the members enjoying their mulled wine intake (thanks to Mike Burton for providing this) and munching on the ever popular mince pies – courtesy of myself, whilst others busied themselves with getting their models ready for flight.
Once again this event proved to be very popular and has become something of a fixture in the Club’s social calendar.
Apologies for the rather ‘grainy’ appearance of some photos, I changed the sensitivity of the camera by accident, so it wasn’t giving the best quality shots all the time :-(…… note to self – check next time !!
