‘Twilight Fun Fly’ – 15th June 2022

Wow, what a perfect evening for a spot of flying with other club members. The idea was to begin flying just before sunset and continue flying into the ‘twilight zone’… whilst still maintaining good line of sight control obviously. The models being flown all featured working navigation lights, some more than others (Andy Best’s aircraft even had light up wings!), but all proving essential in keeping good orientation in the failing light.

The event attracted a dozen or more pilots and all present agreed that this was the type of event that offered something different and also had a good social aspect to it. The Committee will look to holding more events like this during the summer and into the autumn (weather permitting).

I think the last photo of the gallery shots (huge thanks to Mick Wilkinson for flying his model into shot, exactly where I asked him!) summed up what the evening was all about… flying, good company and excellent weather… long may this continue.
